📖 “A love of reading… is one of the most effective ways to help break the poverty cycle. ” 📖

Reading inspires creativity, improves employment opportunities, mental health and well-being and is one of the most effective ways to help break the poverty cycle. Almost 1 in 5 children between the ages of 5 and 8 years old do not have access to books at home. The rising cost of living is cited as a key reason for this, with 87% of parents saying they now have less disposable income and it’s no surprise that just over half say that books are simply too expensive.

Thanks to Books For Kids who donated over 300 as good as new books suitable young people at primary school we continue to include a book in our packs, allowing our young people the same opportunities as their peers: to enjoy reading their own books at home – something most of us take for granted. Thank you! 🥰
