Everything a young person needs to develop skills that last a lifetime
As part of #SelfEvaluationWeek, we’re reflecting on the difference our services are making for young people across West Lothian.
Last year, we proudly launched a new part of our service: School Camp Packs and almost 300 children benefited. We’re now in the midst of delivering this year’s camp packs, continuing to open up these opportunities for even more young people.
School camp should be a time for laughter – a chance for young people to grow, build memories and develop skills that last a lifetime. But for some families, the cost of essential items can be overwhelming – meaning a child may miss out, or a parent faces impossible choices.
That’s where we step in. Our fully packed camp kits make it possible for children to take part and share these experiences with their peers.
What’s in a Camp Pack? Each pack is carefully put together with everything a young person needs to take part, including:
A large bag to carry everything- Waterproofs to stay warm and dry
- Sturdy footwear for outdoor activities
- A sleeping bag and bedtime essentials
- Toiletries and personal items

What this shows us is simple: when we provide the essentials, we don’t just meet a need – we create opportunities for participation, help young people build confidence and make memories that last a life time.
