Just before Christmas we had a visit from Nicole Morrison and Katie O’Reilly who dropped off these amazing donations of PE kit including warm joggers, hoodies and t-shirts. These were donated by the Sky Engineers from across West Lothian and Edinburgh. Thank you to everyone who donated and made this happen, we truly appreciate your generosity.
Having the appropriate clothing to allow children to fully participate in their outdoor learning and PE is important. These activities are one of the most rewarding for children as they are fun, help improve their mental health and well-being, without which their learning is hampered. An added benefit is that children can wear these items when not at school and during the pandemic we have seen a rise in general clothing poverty.
One Referrer said “by providing jogging bottoms and hoodie for outdoor learning and PE has made a massive different to children that would not be able to feel the same as their friends. It has given the children confidence to join in.” #theschoolbankwestlothian
