Recently, we have been thinking about the educational opportunities that come with owning a computer and the significant digital gap that we have here in the UK – particularly for our school children. Learning and working are becoming increasingly digital but 37% of the UK population cannot afford equipment and two million UK households cannot afford to access the internet (The Good Things Foundation, 2021).
In collaboration with Ross and the team at Reusing IT, we are collecting donations of used good and working condition
devices to be refurbished before being given to children who would benefit from these. This will increase the opportunity for children to learn, to develop digital skills that will be transferable throughout their lives, to access community services and even for entertainment purposes.
We are looking for devices and accessories that are in good and working condition
:
Laptops
Laptop bags and accessories
Computers and accessories
Consoles and controllers
iPads and similar tablets

Donations should be handed into our office at Dryburgh House, Meikle Road, Kirkton Campus, Livingston, EH54 7DE (our opening times are listed on our Facebook page). Thank you.
