To be launched in May 2021
We are looking for people to sponsor a child for going back to school in August.
Most children return to school with a brand-new uniform, a jacket, school bag, stationery and footwear but sadly this just isn’t the case for all children.
Can you help “Sponsor A Child” and together we can support a local child from a family experiencing financial hardship. Together we can make a difference in our local community.
We ran this campaign last year and were blown away by the generosity and kindness of the sponsor packs we received. 389 people provided a uniform pack – which was truly overwhelming. This year the coronavirus will hit families hard and we expect the number of children needing our help to be greater than last year. We are therefore appealing for more sponsors.
Due to the current crisis the Sponsor a Child campaign will look a bit different this year. With few shops being open and stock levels/range of stock/deliveries being unpredictable it will be tough for Sponsors to create packs as they did last year. In addition, and most importantly, we want to keep our Sponsors safe and avoid putting them at unnecessary risk being out shopping and dropping off packs to us.
So, after a lot of consideration we have decided to ask our Sponsors to make a donation and we will create the uniform pack – we call it “You Donate and We Create”. We know our Sponsors love being allocated a child and buying all the items for the child but unfortunately, we just can’t operate the campaign like that this year. We hope you can understand why we have made this decision.
This is our main fundraiser of the year and we are greatly relying on your support to help us cope with the increased demand for our service. Please help if you can. We greatly appreciate any donation; every little bit of help and support is appreciated.
All donations can be made via VirginMoneyGiving with the button below
Please remember to tick the gift aid box if you are a UK tax payer, as we can claim 25% on top of your donation.
We will then purchase the items for you and ensure a local child in West Lothian is donated a uniform pack paid for by you.
Here is a rough guide to help you decide how much to donate:
• £5 will supply PE shorts and t-shirt
• £10 for a school bag
• £15 for a pair of shoes
• £25 for a jacket,
• £80 to supply a full uniform pack to a primary age child
• £115 for a secondary age child
